Nikon Coolpix S610

Nikon's Coolpix S610 offers a compact, slim body featuring a 10 megapixel CCD image sensor coupled to a wide-angle 4x zoom Nikkor-branded lens that offers a 28 - 112mm equivalent focal range. There's also lens-based optical image stabilization, and a 3.0-inch LCD screen with 230,000 dot resolution and anti-reflective coating. The Nikon S610 offers ISO sensitivities up to 3200 max, and includes Face-Priority AF capable of identifying up to twelve faces within the frame, which are then taken into account when determining exposure and focusing variables.

The Nikon S610's in-camera Red-Eye Fix function automatically corrects red-eye in-camera, and an Active Child Mode tracks movement of subjects and optimising focusing appropriately. There is also a D-Lighting feature on the S610, compensating for insufficient or excessive lighting in shooting situations. No less than sixteen scene modes are available to help photographers customise their images without needing to undersand the subtleties of shutter speeds, apertures and the like.
